Microbiology and Immunology

Microbiology is the study of single-celled and multi-celled microscopic organisms. Immunology integrates molecular and cellular activities relevant to immunological and biochemical aspects of physiology that determine the pathogenic vulnerability or immunity of an organism against microorganisms or external agents. Allergies, autoimmune diseases, and cancer can all be caused by dysregulation of the immune response, which can be either deficient or overactive. Many bacteria are responsible for the spread of infectious diseases. The study of the immune system in a variety of organisms is known as immunology. Microbes that cause disease induce an immunological response and control the immune system during infection, hence microbiology and immunology go hand in hand. The demand for better antibiotics against pathogenic bacteria has pushed microbiology and immunology closer together. Microbiology and immunology have made significant progress in recent decades due to germ-free animals and next-generation sequencing. Many researches have discovered a link between gut microbiota, immune system activation, and numerous diseases.
