Biography:
Michaela is a second-year graduate student at The Ohio State University pursuing a PhD in Geomicrobiology. She received her B.S. in Environmental Science from The Ohio State University in 2021. Michaela studies magnetotactic bacteria, which biomineralize magnetite nanoparticles from metal nanoparticles, how the proteins within the magnetosome function and contribute to magnetite growth within the organism, and how these proteins are preserved in magnetofossils for biomarker identification.
Title : Protein catalyzed biomineralization of magnetite as the key to magnetofossil identification
